COMPOSITE BONDING

Composite bonding (also known as cosmetic bonding or dental bonding) is a very conservative dental treatment, used to conceal imperfections such as chipped, cracked, or discoloured teeth.

Bonding is the process of applying, moulding and contouring dental composite over natural teeth.

At Brookside Dental we use state-of-the-art high aesthetic composite to help cover up any damage on your tooth/teeth.

We use the best materials to make sure the bonding is long-lasting.

FAST – Have your gap closed or your chipped tooth fixed in one sitting.

INEXPENSIVE – Amazing results at the fraction of the cost of complex treatments.

EASY – No complicated treatment plans, no waiting times, and no multiple appointments.

FINEST MATERIALS – We only use the best materials available in the market designed for high-end cosmetic dentistry.

PREDICTABLE RESULTS – We use a digital workflow to make sure the final result is perfect, and just what our lovely patients want.

CLINICAL EXCELLENCE – We are proud to be recognised as the Centre of Excellence for dental bonding in the Leicestershire area.

We really are the best!

Right for me?

Where needed, a mock-up of the potential final result can be created for you (additional costs apply) which will allow you to preview any results of your cosmetic bonding treatment before you begin.

This is the SMILE TRIAL and is placed over your teeth to allow you to really see and feel what the final result will look like before you even commit.

Benefits of Dental Bonding

  • Convenient: Most cases can be complete with a single visit to the dental clinic;
  • Affordable: Can be completed directly in the chair (no further costs of additional technological assessments);
  • Conservative: Dental bonding preserves more of the natural structure of your tooth than other treatments with visually similar results. In most cases no drilling is required at all (which also means that no dental sedation is necessary);
  • Suitability: Composite bonding is suitable for most patients and can be done at any age (optimal gum health is the only requirement);
  • Reversible: When no drilling has been done, composite bonding is 100% reversible;
  • Safe: The failure rate of composite bonding is remarkably low and easy to fix;
  • Beautifully-looking: The aesthetic results of cosmetic bonding are optimal, and it is virtually unnoticeable to others.

Smoking and dark coloured diets will reduce lifespan

Bonding can last longer if maintained well. We must see you every 6 months for a conditioning polish to help prolong the treatment life

Composite conditioning is the technique of polishing the bonding to remove stains and refresh, reshine the teeth. Your first polish is included, then after it will be chargeable:

1-2 teeth – £30

3-6 teeth – £45

7-10 teeth £55

Both!…..

We strongly recommend completing a course of teeth whitening before starting on your bonding journey, allowing the dentist to then match the new whiter colour with the composite material used.

Once bonding is completed, we will make you a new retainer to use every night to protect the bonding from grinding forces, and you can use this retainer to keep the whitening topped up long term.

You might not stop smiling!

But really, bonding is very minimal and we rarely need to damage the underlying tooth at all, maybe just soften some corners, but apart from that we just layer composite over the natural teeth, so really no risk of any nerve damage or pain.

The main risk is the bonding can break if you are not careful and do not listen to our post-treatment advice.

However; the benefit of bonding is, it can be fixed.

We also recommend you attend for composite conditioning polish every 6 months to keep the bonding stain-free and looking fresh!

The main requirement to make sure your bonding lasts as long as possible* is good oral hygiene!

A good brushing with an electric toothbrush 2 x per day and the use of a Fluoride mouthwash in the middle of the day.

On top of this, we recommend flossing daily, and the use of interdental brushes which should be correctly measured and prescribed by the dentist. You can dip the brush in a peroxyl mouthwash for greater effect.

Then finally we recommend attending for composite conditioning polish every 6 months minimum, to remove any stains, rebuff, re-sparkle and refresh the bonding.

The first polish is included then after that:

1-2 teeth – £30

3-6 teeth – £45

7-10 teeth £55

You must be careful with your teeth that have had bonding, this means:

  • No biting your nails
  • No biting tape
  • No opening packets with your teeth
  • Avoid hard crunch bread or sticky hard sweets with your bonded teeth

We will also include a night-time protective retainer, which you must wear every night to protect the bonding or risk it breaking if you grind your teeth.

If you think composite bonding could be right for you, just get in touch via the Contact page and request your free consultation to see if we can give you the smile you dream of.
