At Brookside Dental we offer a full range of orthodontic and teeth-straightening solutions to suit every lifestyle and budget.
It’s natural for people to want to enhance their smile, and teeth straightening is one of the most sought after cosmetic teeth improvement treatments in the world.
Luckily, the science of orthodontics has come a long way since the days of clunky metal braces that can take years to straighten your teeth; modern treatments are discreet, more comfortable, and fast acting, and we’ve helped thousands of people achieve beautiful, straight teeth with our range of teeth-straightening solutions.
The benefits of teeth straightening
Ravi is absolutely amazing!! He made me feel so comfortable and was just genuinely fantastic, everybody at the surgery is just so pleasant and accommodating! Would highly recommend. The service is unbeatable.

One of the most popular teeth straightening treatments around the world; Invisalign provides a virtually invisible way of straightening your teeth using a series of discreet, custom-made aligners.
Comfortable, discreet, and lifestyle compatible; getting the smile of your dreams has never been so easy, comfortable, and fast.
Quick Straight Teeth (QST) uses fixed clear braces to straighten your front 6 to 8 teeth.
Treatments take as little as 4 to 24 weeks and the brace is extremely discreet, using ceramic brackets which blend in with your teeth and coated wires that are almost invisible. Reduced treatment time means reduced treatment costs, therefore QST provides an affordable way to straighten the teeth and achieve a smile you can be even more proud of.
At Brookside dental we also offer a fixed brace alternative.
This is useful for cases where teeth require significant movement and adjustment, and therefore ‘short-term’ orthodontic treatment is not suitable as it will not achieve the desired result. Metal braces are often seen on children undergoing orthodontic treatment and are commonly known as ‘train tracks’, however we also offer fixed orthodontic treatment using ceramic (tooth-coloured) brackets to help make this treatment more discreet.
Treatment time varies depending on the complexity of each individual case and can take anything from 4 to 24 weeks. After a thorough consultation where we will confirm suitability and explain in detail the steps involved, you will be given a more accurate idea of how long your individual treatment will take. At your consultation appointment, you will have the opportunity to discuss any questions or concerns you may have,
You must remove the aligners to eat, brush and floss your teeth, but aside from these times you must wear the aligners for up to 22 hours a day to speed up the alignment process. If compliance might be an issue then we would recommend a fixed brace instead, as the aligners will not work as well if they are not worn full time and therefore your treatment time will increase considerably. Every two weeks, you will swap your aligners with a new set which will gradually push your teeth into the desired positions.
Any time the teeth are pushed or moved into a different position, there is a chance of experiencing some discomfort. This is actually a good sign as it’s an indication that the treatment is working! Most patients only report discomfort for the first few days after wearing a new set of aligners and some report no discomfort at all. When present, this can be described as more of a pressure-type pain than a sharp or intense pain, and typically resolves after the first few days.
As with all types of orthodontic treatment, the cost will depend on the complexity of your individual case. For top and bottom teeth, this can vary from £2,500 to £3,750. Prices for a single arch start at £2,250.

On average, patients attend every 3-4 weeks for adjustment appointments. Here at Brookside Dental, we offer the flexibility of early morning and late evening appointments up to 7 pm, and can also arrange Saturday appointments where requested.

Most patients report minimal discomfort for the first couple of days after an adjustment appointment and some report no discomfort at all. We have no reports of any major or long-term discomfort, and provide you with soft wax at the start of your treatment to help the inside of your mouth adjust to the new braces.

We firmly believe that retention is for life, so yes, you will definitely need a retainer! The ligaments around teeth are like elastic bands, so when we move and rotate teeth we pull and stretch the bands to achieve the new tooth positions. However, as with a stretched elastic band, if you suddenly let go the band will spring back to its original form and so will your teeth if you complete treatment and don’t wear any retainers. QST treatment includes both fixed and removable retainers in the initial cost to prevent your teeth from springing or later drifting back into their former positions.
Fixed braces can usually manage more complex alignments and achieve fine detail, and therefore whilst the treatment may take slightly longer than other faster alternatives, we can ensure effective and well-controlled results. Treatment times vary depending on the complexity of each individual case, but on average can take between 6-24 months.

When you’ve got fixed braces it can be difficult to get in between the brackets and wires in order to keep food out, and food can also become trapped in aligners; both of which can cause plaque and bacteria to build up.
To help you maintain good oral health when you’re having teeth straightening treatment with us, we offer a 30 minute deep clean with our highly skilled dental hygiene and therapist. This allows us to keep an eye on and maintain your teeth and gum health, and avoid any unwanted surprises when your braces are removed.
